電影【波米叔叔的前世今生】講述身染重病、來日不多的波米叔叔，回到家鄉養病，他亡妻的鬼魂和失蹤的兒子都回來照顧他，一家人再次聚首，他們陪著波米尋找病因，卻意外發覺他前世記憶的奇幻故事。除了美不勝收的畫面與氛圍，更充滿了導演一貫的神秘幽微和禪機佛理的風格，表現出人與自然環境、生命之間的相處議題及人道關懷。

Suffering from acute kidney failure, Uncle Boonmee has chosen to spend his final days surrounded by his loved ones in the countryside. Surprisingly, the ghost of his deceased wife appears to care for him, and his long lost son returns home in a non-human form. Contemplating the reasons for his illness, Boonmee treks through the jungle with his family to a mysterious hilltop cave – the birthplace of his first life. Besides the magnificent scenes in the film, it’s also filled with the director’s unique point of view regarding the transmigration of souls between humans, plants, animals, and ghosts.

【Esteban的觀影感想】《波米叔叔的前世今生 ลุงบุญมีระลึกชาติ》，整部電影充滿上座部佛教的觀念（輪迴和業力），還有泛靈信仰（猴靈傳說）。最讓我感動的段落，是主角過世的妻子（惠）和失蹤多年已經變成猴靈的兒子，在同個晚上返家看因病將要過世的波米。所有的人物和鬼怪，圍在餐桌旁，那段對於親人的死亡與失蹤，充滿思念、不捨、心疼、惦記的對話。（我的眼淚，默默溢出眼眶！）
